Comprising two alpine lakes from Asia’s largest pumped-storage power station—the Hongping Pumped-Storage Power Station—and the current Panlong Lake, this area forms a three-tiered “staircase lake” landscape. At the high-altitude lake inlet, the vast waters present a spectacular view. The first tier is the upper reservoir of Hongping Lake, encircled by natural barriers, with the Shizikou Waterfall hanging in the middle and the lakebed once serving as the training ground of Chen Youliang; the second tier is the lower reservoir of Hongping Lake, characterized by its long, narrow waters surrounded by mountains; the third tier is Panlong Lake, which features an overhanging waterside boardwalk. It is an ideal spot for water sightseeing, entertainment, net fishing, and leisure angling. When tired, visitors can also head to Xiaowan Fishing Village to enjoy a fresh fish feast and camp overnight.
