Xitou Village

Xitou Village is located in Gaohu Town, Jing'an County, about 26 kilometers from the county seat. Nestled amidst lush green mountains and clear waters, it is the hometown of Kuang Zhong—one of the three most revered upright officials in ancient Chinese folklore—and has been a bustling hub since ancient times. The old street was built between the late Yuan Dynasty and the Yongle era, when merchant ships and traders came and went in an endless stream. It was once as renowned as Tujia Port in Wucheng, Yongxiu, and was famously dubbed “Little Nanjing.” Today, this ancient yet prosperous village of Xitou still retains its traditional charm while also embracing modern civilization—wide, clean cement roads lined with neat rows of uniquely designed new farm villas. As a 4A-level rural tourism demonstration site in Jiangxi Province, Xitou Village has developed a variety of distinctive rural experience tours that combine sightseeing, vacationing, leisure, stream tracing, adventure, and historical exploration, attracting numerous tourists from both within and outside the province for rest and relaxation.
