Baojialou

Baojialou is a cultural relic protection unit of Jiangxi Province.

Leijia Village is located southwest of Renshou Town, about fifteen kilometers east of Jing’an County. The ancient architectural complex in Leijia Village comes in two types: one is ancient residential buildings, which date back over 300 years. These residences are built from blue bricks and share a similar structure—rectangular in shape, each building is over ten meters tall, thirty to forty meters long, and about twenty meters wide, showcasing the Huizhou-style architectural style. The alleys between the residences are all paved with bluestone slabs, “after the rain clears, the ground stays dry and doesn’t wet your shoes,” truly evoking the image of deep, quiet lanes; the other is Baojialou, which was built during the Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty and remains well-preserved to this day. It is said that only two such well-preserved Baojialou structures exist nationwide, one of which is in Leijia Village, and the other is in Sichuan Province, giving it extremely high historical and cultural value.
