Yulin Bayberry Base

Located about 2 kilometers east of Xiajiang County, the base covers an area of nearly 10,000 mu, making it one of the largest bayberry bases in the province. The base cultivates varieties such as Dongkui bayberry and Biqi bayberry, along with chestnuts, Cuiguan pears, and gardenia. It entered the fruit-bearing period in 2003. Product testing showed that its total sugar (10.1%), acidity (0.87%), and vitamin C content (0.547 mg/100g) were all superior to those of other regions. Once on the market, the bayberries gained immense popularity among consumers. The bayberry produce was certified as pollution-free agricultural products in 2005 and as green food in 2006. In 2007, the base was designated as a Jiangxi Province science and technology demonstration site for bayberry cultivation. In 2008, it was recognized as a provincial-level rural tourism demonstration site.

Location: Shuibi Town, Xiajiang County

Transportation: Take a bus from Qingyuan Bus Station in the city to Xiajiang County, then transfer to a local bus or taxi to reach the base.

Admission: 30 RMB per person during bayberry picking season; free at other times.
