The Former Site of the Xiajiang Conference is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit and a classic red tourism attraction.

The Former Site of the Xiajiang Conference is located at No. 100 Heng Street, Baoqiu Town, Xiajiang County. Built in the late Qing Dynasty, the site covers an area of 6,748 square meters with a construction area of 598 square meters, representing a typical residential building in central Jiangxi. The joint meeting between the General Front Committee of the First Red Army and the Jiangxi Provincial Action Committee (historically known as the “Xiajiang Conference”) was held here from October 17 to 19, 1930. It was an important meeting during the First Red Army’s advance northward along the Yuan River after withdrawing from the prolonged and unsuccessful second attack on Changsha in September and capturing Ji’an in early October. The meeting was chaired by Mao Zedong, General Secretary of the General Front Committee and Political Commissar of the First Red Army. Issues such as the current political situation, the actions of the Red Army, land reform, and capital were discussed, and the "Resolution on the Land Issue" was passed. The conference laid the ideological foundation for correcting leftist errors within the Party and the Army and for successfully crushing the enemy's first encirclement campaign. This historical site is of great value for understanding and studying the history of revolutionary warfare and for carrying out revolutionary tradition education.

Baoqiu Town: Located in the central part of the county, it is 20 kilometers by road from Shuibi Town. Established as the county seat when Baoqiu County was founded in the second year of the Baoding era of the Wu Kingdom during the Three Kingdoms period, it remained the county seat when Xiajiang County was established in the fifth year of the Jiajing era of the Ming Dynasty. In the third year of the Yongzheng era of the Qing Dynasty, the name was changed from Baoqiu to Baoqiu to avoid the naming taboo of Confucius. After the establishment of the county, it has always been the political, economic, and cultural center of the entire county. On July 1, 1997, the county seat was moved to Shuibi Town, but Baoqiu Town remains a major town in the county.
