Xiagang Five-Eye Bridge

The Xiagang Five-Eye Bridge is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Jiangxi Province.

The Xiagang Five-Eye Bridge is located approximately 200 meters southeast of Wangjia Village, Geping Village Committee, Geping Township. It is 72 meters long, 3.5 meters wide, and 7 meters high, featuring six piers and five arches. The semicircular arches are constructed with staggered grey stone blocks, and the pier foundations are shaped like boats. The upstream side of each pier is built with a triangular cutwater that extends about 2 meters beyond the pier.

The bridge was constructed in 1620 during the Ming Dynasty by Li Tingbiao. Its design is aesthetically pleasing, and viewed from afar, it resembles an exquisitely carved artwork nestled between the riverbanks. Despite being over 300 years old, it remains well-preserved. In July 1984, it was listed as one of the first batch of cultural heritage sites protected at the county level in Xiagang County.
