Liangyan Bridge is a cultural heritage site protected by Xiajiang County.

Liangyan Bridge

It is located 300 meters southwest of Jiaocen Village, Zhou Shang Village Committee, Baxiu Town, running east-west. The original bridge had four piers and three arches, all built with granite. It is 39.6 meters long and 3.6 meters wide. The middle arch is slightly higher at 6 meters with a span of 9.7 meters, while the two side arches are a bit lower at 3.5 meters each, with spans of 7.2 meters.

The bridge was built in the 31st year of the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty (1692) by Li Shibai (a native of Fangzhou Village, Geping Township today). Originally featuring two arches, the bridge later collapsed and was rebuilt with reduced arch spans, changed to three arches. However, it retained the name “Liangyan Bridge” (Two-Eyed Bridge). Having withstood over 300 years, it remains well preserved.

It was listed as a cultural heritage site protected by Xiajiang County in July 1984.
