According to clan genealogies, the bridge was originally built in the 16th year of the Zhengde era of the Ming Dynasty (1521) by Hu Kui, and was renovated in the 18th year of the Jiaqing era of the Qing Dynasty (1813) by Hu Xiangyun from Daguang Village, Renhe. The structure remains largely intact and has stood for over 400 years.
