The former residence of Xi Zhenling is located in Huzhou Village, Shuibian Town, at its current address: No. 89, Huzhou Village. The residence is built with a brick-and-wood structure, facing south with its back to the north, featuring gables that rise 8.6 meters high and covering a construction area of 118.5 square meters.

Xi Zhenling (1757–1818) was a native of Huzhou Village, Shuibian Town. In the 45th year of the Qianlong reign (1780), he passed the imperial examination as a **Juren** (recommended man), and in the 49th year, **Jiachun** (1784), he became a **Jinshi** (presented scholar). He was appointed by imperial decree as an official of the Ministry of Works, later promoted to **Wai Lang** (vice director) of the Directorate of Waterways, then to **Lang Zhong** (middle-ranked official) of the Manufacturing Bureau, and subsequently served as Prefect of Kaihua Prefecture, Dongchuan Prefecture, Xuzhou Prefecture, and Suzhou Prefecture in Yunnan. He was further promoted to **Bingbei Dao** (military defense intendant) overseeing three regions—Tingzhou, Zhangzhou, and Longyan—in Fujian, then to **Ancha Shi** (surveillance commissioner) of Shanxi, and finally to **Buzheng Shi** (financial commissioner) of Shanxi. Regardless of his position, Xi Zhenling always upheld loyalty to the emperor and love for the country as his core values, dedicating himself fully to his duties. He repeatedly requested retirement due to exhaustion. He authored *Gongyu Ji* (Collected Works from Leisure Hours).

Huzhou Village: In 2012, Huzhou Village in Xiajiang County was designated as one of Jiangxi Province’s Millennium Ancient Villages. In early 2013, it was listed among 156 key cultural heritage protection bases in Jiangxi Province. Efforts are currently underway to develop it into a national-level millennium ancient village, with aspirations of becoming a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
