HuanYu Pavilion

HuanYu Pavilion is a cultural heritage site protected by Xiajiang County.

HuanYu Pavilion is located 50 meters west of Hejun Village in Shuibian Town. Originally named “Dacheng Pavilion,” it was first built during the Ming Dynasty. In the 31st year of the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1766), when the pavilion was renovated, Zhang Jiu Cheng, the then-county magistrate of Xiajiang County, renamed it “HuanYu Pavilion.” The structure features triple eaves, with the upper and lower levels having four corners and the middle level having eight corners, all with upturned corners. It is covered with green tiles and topped with a gourd-shaped finial. The middle and upper levels have lattice windows and corridors, and the entire structure is made of wood, with the lower level being a combination of brick and wood, plastered with white lime. It is well preserved. The pavilion underwent two restorations, in 1979 and April 1999.

In July 1984, it was listed as one of the first batch of cultural heritage protection units in Xiajiang County.

Hejun Village: The Hejun Village Committee is located to the west of the new county seat of Xiajiang, covering an area of approximately 32 square kilometers. It has about 4,300 mu of arable land, over 20,000 mu of forestland, and around 600 mu of water area. The village administers 21 village groups, with a population of over 3,300 people. In 2014, the per capita income of villagers was over 8,000 yuan, and the annual collective income of the village was about 900,000 yuan.

The Hejun Village Party Branch currently has 73 members, including 10 female members, accounting for 13.7%; 26 members aged over 60, accounting for 36%; and 9 members under 35, accounting for 13%.
