Cliff Carvings on Jiguan Mountain in Luotian

The cliff carvings on Jiguan Mountain in Luotian are a cultural relic protection unit of Jiangxi Province.

The cliff carvings on Jiguan Mountain in Luotian (including the Sanzhi Hall and two stone tablets) are located on the steep cliffs of Jiguan Mountain to the northwest of Zhangjia Village, Luotian Town, Xiajiang County, Jiangxi Province. Covering an area of about 60 square meters, the surface naturally forms three levels of unevenness, upon which imperial edicts bestowed upon the three imperial censors Zhang Xu, Zhang Kui, and Zhang Xue in the second year of the Zhengtong era (1437), the fifth year of the Tianshun era (1461), and the seventh year of the Chenghua era (1471) of the Ming Dynasty are engraved from top to bottom. All are written in regular script, with the larger characters over a foot in size and the smaller ones over an inch, featuring upright and elegant strokes, though some are slightly faded. The original cliff also bore a poem inscribed by Xie Jin, unfortunately destroyed long ago when villagers quarried stones to build houses. Behind the mountain stand two upright rocks resembling ceremonial tablets, known as the Twin Tablet Rocks. In July 1984, they were listed among the first batch of cultural relic protection units in Xiajiang County.
