Baishuimen Reservoir is situated in Tancheng Township, Yongfeng County, approximately 5 kilometers from the county seat. It spans a total area of about 86.7 hectares and functions mainly as an irrigation facility, while also providing integrated benefits such as power generation and fish farming. It is one of Jiangxi Province’s key medium-sized reservoirs. The dam is 30.45 meters tall, 155 meters long, and 7 meters wide at the crest. From atop the dam, you can gaze across thousands of acres of shimmering blue water and take in the hopeful sight of tens of thousands of acres of fertile farmland. The reservoir is embraced by surrounding mountains and boasts lush vegetation. Along its edges, numerous peninsula-like hills extend into the water. The area around the reservoir features a harmonious mix of cultivated fields, woodlands, lawns, and orchards, creating an elegant and picturesque environment. It lies adjacent to Yanfeng Mountain—one of Yongfeng’s Ten Scenic Spots—where green hills and clear waters abound, accompanied by the cheerful chirping of birds.

Tancheng Township: A township under the jurisdiction of Yongfeng County. In 1950, it was divided into four townships: Tancheng, Xikeng, Yatian, and Shiqiao. In 1956, these were merged into Tancheng Township. In 1958, Tancheng Commune was established. In 1968, it was incorporated into Jiangkou Commune, then re-established as Tancheng Commune in 1972, and reverted to being Tancheng Township in 1984. It is located in the northern part of the county, with the township government seated in Tancheng Market. It is 15 kilometers from the county seat, covers an area of 99 square kilometers, and has a population of 16,000. The Zuolong–Tancheng Highway runs through the township.
