At the start of 2018, the yen fell below 0.26 again, with the bank buying rate hitting a low of 0.2654 (Yongfeng Commercial Bank) and the selling rate at 0.2651. After the Christmas and New Year holiday period, it began to depreciate, also reaching a new low in nearly two years. By January 3, the buying rate was 0.255 (Zhaofeng Commercial Bank) and the selling rate was 0.2656 (Yongfeng Commercial Bank).
