Yongfeng Bao'en Temple Pagoda

Yongfeng Bao'en Temple Pagoda is a cultural relic protection unit of Jiangxi Province.

Bao'en Temple Pagoda is located on the banks of the En River in the western suburbs of Yongfeng County. Built in 1369, it is a highly visited site within Yongfeng County.

Constructed in the second year of the Hongwu era of the Ming Dynasty (1369 AD), it is the oldest ancient pagoda in the county. The pagoda is built from blue bricks, has nine levels and four sides, with a cylindrical iron spire at the top and a square body. The base of each side measures 6.45 meters, decreasing proportionally with each ascending level, resulting in a well-proportioned and graceful form. The overall height of the pagoda is 29.285 meters. On the eastern side of the pagoda, from the second to the seventh level, and on the other three sides only on the second and third levels, there were originally red stone carvings and offerings housed in arched niches, all of which were destroyed during the Cultural Revolution.

It was listed as a key cultural relic protection unit of Jiangxi Province in 1959. In 1984, the Provincial Department of Culture allocated funds for its restoration.
