Yongfeng County Museum

Yongfeng County Museum is located at No. 1 Yongshu Road, Enjiang Town, Yongfeng County, Jiangxi Province. It was established in April 1984 with the approval of the county government.

The museum houses a collection of over 200 items, including the unique stele inscription of the Longgang Qian Biao personally written by Ouyang Xiu, which is unparalleled both domestically and internationally. Other valuable items include surviving portraits of Ouyang Xiu, various thread-bound publications, and historical relics from different dynasties, all of which hold significant importance.

Yongfeng County Museum includes two branches: the First Counter-"Encirclement" Campaign Exhibition Hall of the First Front Red Army and the Ouyang Xiu Memorial Hall, and it oversees the revolutionary and historical relics of the entire county.

The First Counter-"Encirclement" Campaign Exhibition Hall of the First Front Red Army is located at the entrance of Longgang Street, Yongfeng County (Postal Code: 3315). It was approved for establishment by the Yongfeng County Committee in December 1976 and officially opened to the public on September 9, 1977.

The Ouyang Xiu Memorial Hall is located in Enjiang Town, Yongfeng County (Postal Code: 3315). It was established and began preparation in 1985, covering a total area of 30,000 square meters with a building area of 3,000 square meters. The Prime Minister’s Mansion project was completed in October 1987. It is an antique-style brick-and-wood structure designed by the Beijing Ancient Architecture and Landscape Design Office and opened to the public in October 1989. Four exhibition halls introduce Ouyang Xiu’s life and his achievements in literature, historiography, Confucian classics, epigraphy, and political reform.

The hall was reconstructed from six original storefronts, covering a total area of 825 square meters with a building area of 500 square meters. The 70-meter-long display line in the four exhibition halls is divided into two main sections: "Strategic Retreat, Luring the Enemy In Deep" and "Strategic Concentration, Annihilating the Enemy in One Strike." It provides a comprehensive and systematic introduction to the battle process of the First Front Red Army's first counter-"encirclement" campaign. The exhibition combines illustrations with texts and alternates between artifacts and models. In addition to photos and charts, it also displays 14 revolutionary relics, including important documents from the first counter-"encirclement" campaign, weapons and tools used in the Longgang Battle, and belongings of martyrs. Among them, the original mimeographed copy of the "Red Army Victory Report," personally signed by Mao Zedong and Zhu De on the evening of December 30, 1930, is a treasured revolutionary relic.

Collection of Relics

Among them, a dedicated exhibition room displays over 200 historical relics, primarily featuring various editions of Ouyang Xiu’s works, ink traces, as well as research writings from different dynasties. These include physical artifacts, rubbings, calligraphy and paintings, presented alongside texts and photos.
