The Former Revolutionary Site Complex of Donggu mainly includes the Donggu Civilian Bank, the former meeting site where the Fourth Red Army joined forces with the Second and Fourth Red Regiments, Mao Zedong’s former residence in Donggu, the site of the military-civilian Oath-taking Rally, the radio training class of the First Front Army of the Red Army, the Gonglue Pavilion, the Donggu Revolutionary Martyrs Monument, the Exhibition Hall of the Second Counter-“Encirclement and Suppression” Campaign in Donggu, the site of the February 7th Meeting, the headquarters of the Fourth Red Army, the Jiangxi Provincial Soviet Government, and the site of the First Congress of the Chinese Communist Party in Southwest Jiangxi.

The Donggu Revolutionary Base Area, centered on Donggu She Ethnic Township, includes Futian Town and Wenbei Township. It was once the main battlefield of the first, second, and third Counter-“Encirclement and Suppression” Campaigns. As one of the earliest revolutionary base areas established by the Chinese Communist Party, the Donggu Revolutionary Base holds an important place in the history of the Chinese revolution. It created multiple precedents in both the Chinese revolutionary movement and the history of the Chinese Soviet Republic: the first paper currency, the first red post office, the first radio training class, the first consumer cooperative, the first comprehensive armament factory, as well as being the birthplace of 21 founding generals of the People’s Republic from Qingyuan.

Donggu She Ethnic Township: Located in the southeastern part of Qingyuan District, Donggu She Ethnic Township is 82 kilometers from the district government seat. It borders Yongfeng County to the east, Xingguo County to the south, Taihe County to the west, and Futian Town of the same district to the north. The township covers a total land area of 243 square kilometers, governs 15 village committees and 1 neighborhood committee, with a population of nearly 18,000, including over 5,200 people of She ethnicity. Forested land accounts for 80% of the township's area, and cultivated land spans 1,194 hectares.
