Lai Jingbang's Former Residence Lai Jingbang, born in 1899, joined the Communist Party of China in 1926. In February 1927, he established the first CPC party cell in Donggu, then set up a farmers' association and formed a farmers’ self-defense militia. He also convened a meeting with 12 CPC members from the Donggu area to discuss the situation and tasks, and founded the CPC Dong (Gu) (Nan) Long Branch under his leadership as secretary. This led the revolutionary struggle in the Donggu area and established the Donggu Farmers’ Association and the Donglong Guerrilla Unit. This Donglong Guerrilla Unit later became the main force behind the Donggu Peasant Uprising, which inspired the revolutionary spirit of the people in southwestern Jiangxi. Several local peasant militias from the Donggu vicinity voluntarily joined their ranks. It can be said that the establishment and consolidation of the Donggu Revolutionary Base Area were inseparable from its outstanding founder—Lai Jingbang, the distinguished son of the Donggu people.
