Yingqian Wenfeng Pagoda is a cultural tourism attraction.

One of the Eight Scenic Spots of Yingqian. Historical records state that in the fourth year of the Tianbao era, Magistrate Long Wenguang visited Yingqian. After admiring the landscape, he lamented the low and hidden appearance of the eastern literary peak and advocated for the Chen and Cai families to jointly fund the construction of a pagoda on the summit of Dongshan Mountain, 2.5 kilometers to the east, to enhance the area’s cultural energy. After the pagoda was built, the locals, grateful for Magistrate Long’s guidance, named it Longgong Pagoda or Wenfeng Pagoda. The pagoda stands 25 meters tall with seven stories, featuring 100 stone steps along the inner walls and three niches on each level. From the top, the winding landscapes of Yingqian unfold below, “with clouds and waters appearing like a jade ribbon, and the sounds of music blending or competing with the murmurs of the waters,” giving rise to the poetic saying “The Pagoda’s Music Echoes as Waters Roar.”

Yingqian Town: Located in the western part of Shangyou County, Yingqian Town is 46 kilometers from the county seat and 40 kilometers from the Jiangxi–Hunan border. It covers an area of 65 square kilometers (including 11,000 mu of arable land, 61,000 mu of mountainous land, and 2,400 mu of water area), with a total population of 30,200. The town administers nine administrative villages, one neighborhood committee, and 253 villager groups. There are currently 21 Party branches and 620 Party members. The total output value of industry and agriculture in the town is 80 million yuan, fiscal revenue is 8.46 million yuan, and the planned urban area has a population of over 5,000.
