Shaduan Osmanthus New Village in Shexi Town is located 20 kilometers from the county seat. It comprises 17 villager groups with a population of 1,529. The village spans 9,700 mu of mountainous land and 840 mu of arable land, making it the only comprehensive demonstration village in Shangyou County this year featuring integrated planning of landscape, water, fields, gardens, and roads. The Shaduan community is well-equipped. Surrounding the community are facilities such as the village committee office, the “Three Deliveries” service station, community activity rooms, schools, supermarkets, and fitness areas. These are rationally laid out, fully functional, and set in a pleasant environment. The Shaduan Community Square, themed around osmanthus culture, features several varieties of osmanthus including sweet osmanthus, golden osmanthus, and silver osmanthus. Stone steles are inscribed with classical poems and prose about osmanthus by ancient literati, such as “Osmanthus petals fall from the moon, celestial fragrance drifts beyond the clouds.”

The modern agricultural demonstration park, with the Shaduan Ten-Thousand-Mu Osmanthus Garden as its main zone, covers a planned area of over 20,000 mu and focuses on the cultivation of osmanthus seedlings. Osmanthus trees line the village roads, dot the front and back yards of farmhouses, and cover the mountains, creating picturesque rural landscapes that blend beautifully with quaint small houses and golden rice ears.

Shexi Town: As one of the central towns in Shangyou County, Shexi Town borders Nankang City to the east and north, Youshi Township to the south, and Anhe Township to the west. It covers a land area of 128 square kilometers, including 22,867 mu of arable land and 82,600 mu of forested land. The soil types are mainly acidic crystalline rock and purple sandy shale-derived Masandian soils and purple sandy loam soils.
