The Former Residence of Comrade Mao Zedong in Yingqian is a classic red tourism attraction.

On January 13, 1929, Chairman Mao led the Fourth Red Army from Ciping, passing through Zu'an and Sanjia Village, and crossed Jinping to arrive in Yingqian. In the afternoon, Comrade Mao Zedong met with He Fangwen, the head of the underground party in Yingqian, at the Chen Family Ancestral Hall in Benghekan, Xiangya Village. In the evening, Comrade Mao convened a meeting of cadres at the rank of company commander and above. The main leaders of the underground parties of counties such as Shangyou, Nan Kang, Chongyi, and Suichuan attended the meeting. Comrade Mao warmly welcomed the attendees and delivered an important speech, providing a detailed and scientific analysis on major issues such as armed struggle, land revolution, and the three-in-one combination of establishing revolutionary bases—the "worker-peasant armed separatism." He theoretically resolved the doubts some comrades had about "how long the red flag can be held," armed their thinking, and pointed out the correct path for the revolution. That night, Comrade Mao stayed here—at the Wanshou Palace in Yingqian. The next day, at dawn, he led his troops through Xiawan and Huangkeng in Yingqian, heading to Jieba in Chongyi.
