Steep Water Buddha Waterfall

To visit the Buddha Waterfall, start from Dou Shui Market, pass by Gui Zhu Mountain Villa, and follow the walking trail — it’s about a 20-minute hike. The waterfall curtain is nearly 10 meters wide with a drop of over 30 meters. The thunderous sound of the falls gently reaches your ears as the water crashes against the rocky cliffs, sending up showers of droplets and waves that soar into the sky, creating occasional fleeting rainbows. Deep within the waterfall lies a natural pool, crystal clear and icy cold, known as Ice Water Pool. Looking up at the cascading curtain of water, it appears as if a Buddha sits facing east, chanting scriptures and striking a wooden fish — hence the name Buddha Waterfall.
