The Luofang Conference Memorial Hall is located on the banks of the Yuan River in Luofang Town, about 20 kilometers east of Xinyu City, Jiangxi Province. It lies north of the Qingping Highway and the Zhejiang–Jiangxi Railway, offering extremely convenient transportation. The memorial was first built in 1973 and opened to the public on National Day in 1976. With a construction area of 2,200 square meters, it is a group of buildings featuring a distinct ethnic style, centered around a traditional Chinese courtyard. The grounds feature gardens, ponds, lush flowers and trees, and elegant statues; the corners and corridors are adorned with slender bamboo and exquisite potted plants. From any angle, the memorial appears as a fragrant sanctuary nestled within orange groves — a solemn revolutionary shrine that commands respect. The site includes eight revolutionary memorials under its administration, such as the former site of the Chenjia'nao Luofang Conference, the former site of the Red First Front Army Headquarters in Yuian Village, and the former site of the Xingguo Investigation Meeting in Pengjiazhou... The memorial houses six exhibition halls: Halls 1 to 4 display exhibits on the Luofang Conference, while Halls 5 and 6 showcase the local revolutionary history of Xinyu. There is also a screening room, library and archives, telephone booth, reception room, and conference hall. The entire exhibition features over 180 meters of display panels covering 800 square meters, utilizing a variety of artistic forms including documents, photographs, oil paintings, traditional Chinese paintings, watercolors, sculptures, screens, light boxes, slides, charts, replicas, precious cultural relics, and TV documentaries. The audio guide is automated and enhanced with modern techniques involving “sound, light, and electricity,” focusing on the great revolutionary practices of veteran proletarian revolutionaries such as Mao Zedong, [missing name], and Peng Dehuai in Luofang in October 1930, as well as the decades-long local revolutionary struggle in Xinyu. The displays are creatively presented with both unity and diversity, featuring lively yet harmonious colors, along with an atmosphere of solemnity that immerses visitors as if they were part of the history. On October 25, 1930, to determine the direction of the Red Army’s actions and crush the first “encirclement and suppression” campaign launched by the enemy against the Central Soviet Area, Mao Zedong presided over a joint meeting of the General Front Committee of the Red First Front Army and the Jiangxi Provincial Committee in Chenjia'nao, Luofang, Xinyu County. This historic meeting is known as the Luofang Conference. The Luofang Conference Memorial Hall is a thematic party history memorial and an important site for revolutionary tradition education, as well as a quaint scenic attraction in Xinyu City. In the 18 years since its opening, it has welcomed countless visitors from across the country, including elderly veterans, retired cadres, and innocent children. Furthermore, its serene and sacred ambiance attracts batches of refined scholars, poets, and painters. Many renowned calligraphers, such as Lin Sanzhi, Wu Zhongqi, and Shen Zuoyao..., have inscribed calligraphy for the memorial, leaving behind treasured works. The Xinyu Municipal Government and the people of Xinyu regard the memorial as the city’s pride and honor.
