Rongquan Bridge

Rongquan Bridge is located to the east of Paijiang Village, Shuibei Town, Yushui District, Xinyu City, Jiangxi Province. Originally built in the eighth year of the Wanli era during the Ming Dynasty (1580), it was designated as a provincial-level key cultural relics protection unit in December 2006. The bridge spans an eastern tributary of the Meng River from west to east. It is a single-arch stone bridge, measuring 7.2 meters in length, 2.1 meters in width, and 4.4 meters in span. The bridge deck is 0.35 meters thick, and the height from the bridge deck to the water surface is 1.7 meters, with a total construction area of 15.12 square meters. The arch is constructed with rectangular granite stones laid in a longitudinal bond pattern, and the bridge deck is paved with flagstones. The central keystone of the arch bears an inscribed poem by Jian Shulu: “To the east of Paijiang, Rongquan flows like a belt; moonlit stones rise in the middle, forever relied upon by all.” The riverbanks on both sides are reinforced with lime-soil retaining walls. This bridge was built by the Ming Dynasty official Jian Xiao to facilitate farming for local villagers.

It serves as a junction area for four counties (cities) and ten townships (towns), covering a total area of 131.23 square kilometers.
