Former Site of the Huajiao Branch of the CPC

The former site of the Huajiao Branch of the CPC is a cultural relic protection unit of Jiangxi Province.

The former site of the Huajiao Branch of the CPC is located in Zongxingli, Jiulongshan Township, Xiannvhu District. In October 1927, the first CPC branch in Xinyu County was established here. Since then, this place became the center of the Jiulongshan Revolutionary Base Area within the Hunan-Jiangxi Soviet Region. As the first CPC branch in Xinyu County, it is an extremely important historical witness from the period of the Agrarian Revolutionary War. It also serves as a significant material testament to our Party’s leadership in mobilizing the local people for revolutionary struggle and the fight for national independence, and holds great revolutionary historical value.

Jiulongshan Township: A township under the jurisdiction of Yushui District, Xinyu City. Established as the Jiulongshan Reclamation Farm in 1958, it was incorporated into Liangshan Commune in 1960, reinstated as the Jiulongshan Reclamation Farm in 1961, and split into Jiulongshan Commune and Jiulongshan Reclamation Farm in 1979 before becoming a township in 1983. Located in the southwestern part of the district, with its government seated in Huangtian Village, it lies 30 kilometers from the district seat. The township covers an area of 74 square kilometers and has a population of 9,000. It includes the Jiangkou Reservoir. A district highway leads directly to Jiulong. It administers five village committees: Yangjiang, Houyuan, Huangtian, Changmei, and Chengshang.
