Minqing Guild Hall

The Minqing Guild Hall is a cultural heritage site protected by Taijiang District.

The Minqing Guild Hall was originally located at Xinmin Street (No. 61 Xinmin Street), Houtian, Bangzhou Subdistrict, Taijiang District, Fuzhou City. During the 2004–2005 redevelopment of the Xinmin area, the guild hall was relocated to its current site (beside Baima River on Sanbao Straight Street). Originally built in the sixth year of the Tongzhi reign during the Qing Dynasty (1867), the hall was later funded through donations from overseas Chinese hailing from Minqing County, with Huang Naishang having presided over its construction. It faces west and covers an area of approximately 540 square meters. The main hall is three bays wide, seven pillars deep, and consists of four rooms, featuring a post-and-lintel wooden frame structure with a double-sloped roof. The front porch has a pair of blue stone dragon pillars, each 3.75 meters long and 0.67 meters in diameter, intricately carved with inscriptions reading “Built by Huang of Huqiu” and “Tongzhi Year of Dingmao,” all well preserved. It was designated as a district-level cultural heritage site in 1988.
