Yongfeng Temple of the King of Minyue is a cultural relic protection unit of Minhou County.

Yongfeng Temple of the King of Minyue was originally located in Yongfeng Village, Jingxi Town, Minhou County. It was first built during the Southern Song Dynasty, with the existing structures dating back to the Qing Dynasty, covering an area of about 2,500 square meters. The main buildings include a theater stage, viewing pavilion, bell and drum towers, worship pavilion, and main hall. The main hall is five bays wide and seven pillars deep. The theater stage and worship pavilion feature exquisitely crafted wooden caisson ceilings, while the bell and drum towers have upturned eaves with exquisite craftsmanship. The front features a memorial archway-style temple wall, with two stone plaques embedded above the central gate — the upper plaque inscribed with “Imperially Bestowed Temple of the King of Minyue of Han,” and the lower one with “Linzhuang Realm.”

The temple primarily enshrines Wu Yu, the King of Minyue who was enfeoffed in the early Western Han Dynasty. The side chambers respectively house Chen Jinggu, the Goddess of Linshui, and Zhu Xi, the Neo-Confucian scholar of the Southern Song Dynasty. This temple is a typical example of folk belief shrine architecture in the Fuzhou area, possessing certain cultural relic value.

It was designated as a cultural relic protection unit of Minhou County in 1999. In 2011, due to the land acquisition for the construction of the Hua’an Bridge on the Fuzhou Third Ring Road, it was relocated to a new site at the eastern foothills upon approval from the provincial government.

However, according to netizens who tracked the process, the relocation of Yongfeng Temple of the King of Minyue did not follow the news reports claiming that “all components would be fully reused.” Instead, a large amount of new timber was used, while the original old wood and decorative elements were left discarded.
