Ancient Yang Site

The Ancient Yang Site is a cultural heritage site protected by Minhou County.

The Ancient Yang Site is situated on the southern bank of the lower reaches of the Min River, north of Guyang Village in Hongwei Township, Minhou County, spanning an area of about 30,000 square meters. To date, a large quantity of pottery fragments and a set of stone adzes, stone axes, stone chisels, small spinning wheels, slightly larger spinning wheels, as well as a few intact pottery items including cups, dou (food vessels), jars, and supports have been excavated. Some pottery bottoms are inscribed with fairly standardized ceramic script symbols.

The Ancient Yang Site was listed as one of the first batch of county-level cultural heritage protection units in 1989.

Guyang Village: Located in the central-northern part of Hongwei Township, Guyang Village covers a total area of 13,787 mu, encompassing three natural villages: Lijing, Waijing, and Qipanshi. The village has a total population of 2,250 residents across 586 households. The village is home to residents with over ten surnames, including Su, Chen, Zhu, Zhang, and Lai, among which the Lai family were the earliest to settle here, having migrated during the late Ming Dynasty. At the entrance of the village stands a memorial archway. By turning left along National Highway 316 and driving 4.8 kilometers along the cement road, you will arrive at the village committee of Guyang Village.
