Luoyuan Hongfu Temple

Luoyuan Hongfu Temple is a cultural heritage site protected by Luoyuan County.

Hongfu Temple is located in Huangjiawan Village, Qibu Town, Luoyuan County.

The temple is built with earth and timber, nestled against a mountain, with an elevation difference of 6.64 meters from the mountain gate to the rear hall. The existing mountain gate and main hall date back to the Ming Dynasty's Longqing era, while the front and rear halls were constructed during the Qing Dynasty's Qianlong period, covering a total area of 1,531 square meters.

The Mahavira Hall was built in the sixth year of the Ming Longqing era (1572 AD), featuring a single-eave hip-and-gable roof, spanning five bays in width and four bays in depth, with an area of 437 square meters. The caisson ceiling still preserves Ming Dynasty painted artwork “A Vermilion Phoenix Facing the Sun”; the steps are constructed from bluish-green stone and feature bas-relief carvings of two dragons fighting over a pearl.

In the second year of the Song Xianping era (999 AD), Monk Xingzong first built the mountain gate and the Mahavira Hall.

In the sixth year of the Ming Longqing era (1572 AD), Monk Wubian rebuilt the mountain gate and the main hall;

In the fourteenth year of the Ming Chongzhen era (1641 AD), Monk Pují constructed the rear hall.

In the twenty-eighth year of the Qing Qianlong era (1763 AD), Monks Jiehong and Jieyin renovated the rear hall.

The currently preserved structures — the mountain gate, front hall, main hall, and rear hall — were designated as part of the second batch of county-level cultural heritage protection units in 1986.

Qibu Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Luoyuan County. Established as Qibu Commune in 1958, restructured as a township in 1984, and upgraded to a town in 1989. It is located in the northern part of the county, covering an area of 75 square kilometers with a population of 30,000. The town administers 16 village committees including Caolong, Gaoyang, Yeyang, Xiachangzhi, Yanyangban, Shangchangzhi, Danglin, Yangbei, Jiangdian, Hangshan, Lantian, Xishan, Huguo, Chaoge, Tianzhong, and Huangjiajie, as well as 4 residential committees: Qibu, Guilin, Shencuo, and Gangtou.
