The Sanshan Guild Hall is a cultural heritage site protected at the municipal level in Fuzhou.

Sanshan Guild Hall

It is located at No. 56 Hengjie Alley, Yangzhong Subdistrict, Taijiang District, Fuzhou City. Built during the Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty, it is a wooden structure constructed by the silk and cloth merchant associations of Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces in Fuzhou. According to *An Introduction to Ming and Qing Guild Halls in Fuzhou*: the silk and cloth industry associations of Jiangsu and Zhejiang jointly built one guild hall each inside and outside the urban area of Fuzhou. As these were interprovincial associations, they did not bear the names “Jiangsu” or “Zhejiang.” The guild hall within the city was located at Chunyu Pavilion (commonly called “Cangqian He Yan,” at the junction of Tonghu Road and Guanglu Fang), near the Sanshan Post, hence the name “Sanshan Guild Hall.” The guild hall in Nantai also used this name and was respectively referred to as the “Urban Sanshan Guild Hall” and the “Tai Sanshan Guild Hall.”

The original area of the Sanshan Guild Hall exceeded 1,000 square meters, facing west. The surviving Chunhui Hall features a post-and-lintel wooden frame and a double-eaved hip-and-gable roof. Stone plinths, pillars, and caisson ceilings inside the hall are well preserved, along with multiple surviving couplets and inscriptions. The hall covers an area of approximately 308 square meters. A stone plaque inscribed with “Sanshan Guild Hall” is embedded in the eastern wall, and two stone lions flank the main entrance of the hall, which were relocated from the Tingzhou Guild Hall. The structure is relatively well preserved.

After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the Sanshan Guild Hall was converted into Jindou Primary School. During the Cultural Revolution, it was renamed Xiangshang Primary School before reverting to its original name. In 1985, the primary school was closed, and the site became the Taijiang District Children’s Palace. In 2010, it was transformed into the Yangzhong Kindergarten, which remains in operation to this day.

It was designated as a municipal-level cultural heritage site in 1992.

Located in the central part of Taijiang District, it is the seat of the Taijiang District Committee and District Government. To the east, it borders Wuyi South Road to Guohuo West Road; to the south, it runs along Yangzhong Road, Xuejun Road, Bayi 7th Middle Road, and Dadao River; to the west, it extends from Gongye Road southward along Yangzhong Road; to the north, it reaches Guohuo West Road, connecting via Gongye Road to the intersection at Yangzhong.
