Guanyi Bridge

Guanyi Bridge is a municipal cultural heritage site of Fuzhou.

Guanyi Bridge is located at the western entrance of Yijinfang in Gulou District, Fuzhou City, originally built over the moat of the Luo City from the Five Dynasties period. It is a single-arch stone bridge. The bridge is 7.00 meters long and 5.05 meters wide, with the deck formed by six stone slabs joined together. The north railing is inscribed with “Guanyi Bridge,” while the south side bears the inscription “Built in the 18th Year of the Daoguang Reign (1838),” and there are four pairs of lotus-patterned balusters.

During the Five Dynasties period, the bridge spanned the moat of Luo City. It was originally named Cheqiao and was first constructed as a wooden bridge.

In the 14th year of the Chenghua reign of the Ming Dynasty (1478 AD), it was rebuilt as a stone bridge. Because the bridge provided access to Sanshan Post, it was named Guanyi Bridge, commonly known as Yiqian Bridge.

In the spring of the 18th year of the Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty (1838 AD), seventy-year-old local resident Yucun oversaw its reconstruction, converting it once again into a stone arch bridge.

In 1985, during road construction, the bridge deck was covered with concrete.

In 1992, it was designated as part of the third batch of municipal-level cultural heritage sites in Fuzhou under the name “Seven Bridges of Qionghe.”

Nanjie Subdistrict: Nanjie Subdistrict is located in the central-western part of Gulou District. To the east, it borders Dongjie Subdistrict along Bayi 7th North Road; to the south, it faces the foot of Wushi Mountain and neighbors Antai Subdistrict; to the west, it extends to Xiaoliu and Henan Xincun, connecting with Hongshan Town; and to the north, it is bounded by Hujie Road, Xiannan Road, and Yangqiao Road, adjacent to Huada Subdistrict and Guxi Subdistrict. It covers an area of 1.56 square kilometers, has 16,000 households, and a population of about 50,000. The subdistrict office is located at No. 28 Huangxiang.
