Xiguan Sluice is a cultural heritage site protected at the municipal level in Fuzhou.

Xiguan Sluice

Located on the northern section of Fuzhou’s Ring Road, it was built in the 30th year of the Zhiyuan era during the Yuan Dynasty (1294), beside the bridge north of the Fujian Provincial Bureau. The sluice is 4.45 meters high and 0.6 meters wide, with an inscription near the sluice slot that reads: “On this auspicious day, the 19th day of the 11th month in the Year of the Wood Horse, during the 30th year of the Great Yuan Zhiyuan era, the Fujian Provincial Administration’s Gong Gaoxing and others personally constructed this.” It was announced as a municipal-level cultural relics protection unit in 1983.

Nanjie Subdistrict: Nanjie Subdistrict is located in the central-western part of Gulou District. To the east, it borders Dongjie Subdistrict along North Bayi 7th Road; to the south, it faces the foot of Wushi Mountain and neighbors Antai Subdistrict; to the west, it extends to Xiaoliu and Henan Xincun, connecting with Hongshan Town; and to the north, it is bounded by Hujie Road, Xian South Road, and Yangqiao Road, adjacent to Huada Subdistrict and Guxi Subdistrict. Covering an area of 1.56 square kilometers, it has 16,000 households and a population of about 50,000. The subdistrict office is located at No. 28 Huangxiang.
