Baima Bridge is a cultural heritage site protected at the municipal level in Fuzhou.

Baima Bridge

Located on Baima River in Yizhou Subdistrict, Taijiang District, Fuzhou City, it was built in the late Qing Dynasty and funded by the Fuzhou Timber Merchants' Guild. Running east-west, it is a stone flat-beam bridge with three piers and four spans of unequal length. The piers are boat-shaped. The bridge is 74 meters long and 3 meters wide, featuring 23 pairs of balusters and 22 sets of railings. It has undergone multiple renovations. In the 33rd year of the Republic of China (1944), during Fuzhou’s second occupation by Japanese forces, the Japanese army carried out brutal massacres of civilians and atrocities against women here, making it one of the historical testimonies to Japan’s invasion of Fuzhou.

Located in the western part of Taijiang District, it is bordered in the east by Yangzhong Road at Yangtoukou leading to Nanchan River and then to Baima River; in the south by Jiankang Road connecting to Jiangbin North Avenue, facing the new development area of Cangshan across the river; in the west by Xincun Yili and Erli of Ninghua Subdistrict and Ninghua Road extending to Gongye Road; in the north by Gongye Road up to Yangtoukou.
