Laofo Pavilion Bridge

Laofo Pavilion Bridge is a cultural heritage site protected by Fuzhou City.

Laofo Pavilion Bridge is located on the southern side of Guanglu Alley in Gulou District, spanning the Antai River (the moat of the Tang-era Luocheng city), running north–south and connecting to Yushan Stream.

The bridge is a stone beam structure, 5.35 meters long and 3 meters wide. Its deck consists of four stone slabs, each 5.35 meters long and 0.37 meters thick. It has stone pillars and railings. The eastern side of the bridge is inscribed with: “Erected in the spring of the Renyin year of the Wanli era (the 30th year of Wanli, 1602 AD).”

Originally built during the Five Dynasties period and reconstructed in the 30th year of the Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty (1602), it was formerly known as Ban Bridge and commonly called Lao Ting Bridge. Spanning the moat of the Tang-era Luocheng city, now situated on the southern side of Guanglu Alley, it runs north–south and connects Guanglu Alley with Yushan Stream. It was originally a wooden bridge with a pavilion, which later collapsed and was replaced with stone. It is now a stone beam bridge, 5.35 meters long and 3 meters wide, with its deck formed by four stone slabs, each 5.35 meters long and 0.37 meters thick, along with stone pillars and railings. The eastern side of the bridge is inscribed with: “Erected in the spring of the Renyin year of the Wanli era.”

In 1992, it was designated as part of the third batch of municipal-level cultural heritage sites in Fuzhou under the name “Seven Bridges of Qiong River.”

Nanjie Subdistrict: Nanjie Subdistrict is located in the central-western part of Gulou District. To the east, it borders Dongjie Subdistrict along Bayi 7th North Road; to the south, it lies at the foot of Wushi Mountain, adjacent to Antai Subdistrict; to the west, it extends to Xiaoliu and Henan Xincun, bordering Hongshan Town; and to the north, it is bounded by Hujie Road, Xian South Road, and Yangqiao Road, neighboring Huada Subdistrict and Guxi Subdistrict. The subdistrict covers an area of 1.56 square kilometers, with 16,000 households and a population of approximately 50,000. The subdistrict office is located at No. 28 Huangxiang.
