Liandan Bridge

Liandan Bridge is a cultural relic protection unit of Fuzhou City.

Liandan Bridge is located on the Liandan River to the north of Jiuku Mountain in Liandancun Village, Chengmen Town, Cangshan District. It is a single-arch stone flat-beam bridge oriented from north to south. The bridge is 15 meters long and 1.41 meters wide, with a 7-step approach ramp that is now severely damaged. On both banks, block stones are stacked to form single-sided stepped abutments, which are 5 meters apart. Two stone beams, each 7.5 meters long, 0.54 meters thick, with one being 0.92 meters wide, are placed across the abutments to form the bridge. The beams are inscribed with the following text: “Constructed by Lian Pu of this locality and his wife Lin Shiliuniang for their parents, wishing for peace for family and country and shared prosperity. Made on the third day of the eighth month in the Xin Hai year of the Shang Yuan era.” The relic is registered as a Tang Dynasty bridge, though many now believe it was actually built during the Song Dynasty.

In December 1992, it was designated as a district-level cultural relic protection unit.

In January 2015, it was announced as part of the sixth batch of municipal-level cultural relic protection units in Fuzhou City.

Liandancun Village: Located in the northern part of Chengmen Town, Liandancun Village is small and mountainous, with nine natural villages. The Fuzhou Traffic Police Automobile Training and Examination Site and a sewage treatment plant are situated within its jurisdiction. The village currently has 539 households, a population of 1,753, and 1,139 laborers. In 2012, the total rural economic income was 198.09 million yuan.
