Yinghua Chapel

Yinghua Chapel is a Fujian Provincial Cultural Heritage site.

Yinghua Chapel is located on Lequn Road, Maiyuan Community, Cangqian Subdistrict, Cangshan District, within the campus of Fuzhou Senior High School. Also known as "Li Chapel" or Yinghua Chapel (Nind-Lacy Memorial Chapel), it was donated in 1905 by American Methodist missionary William Nind and his wife, along with some alumni of Foochow Anglo-Chinese College, to commemorate their mothers, Mary Clarke Nind and Eliza Woodman Lacy. It is currently the gymnasium of Fuzhou Senior High School. The main structure is a single-story brick-and-wood building, a red-brick Gothic-style church, covering an area of 604.5 square meters, measuring 32.5 meters in length and 18.6 meters in width, oriented 30 degrees northwest. The adjacent bell tower has three stories and is about 21.65 meters tall, housing a large bell designed by the American Howard Clock Company and cast by the McShane Bell Foundry. It now serves as the gymnasium of Fuzhou Senior High School. In 2013, it was designated as a Fujian Provincial-level Cultural Heritage site as part of the "Yantai Mountain Modern Architectural Complex."
