Originally the home of Gao Yingsong, a patriotic martyr of the Southern Song Dynasty, the existing structures date back to the Ming and Qing Dynasties and were renovated in 1999. The residence faces south and has a rectangular layout, covering a total area of 899 square meters. It is built with earth and wood, consisting of three courtyards, featuring a screen wall and a gate tower at the front. The main gate bears the inscription “Shūmì Dì” (Gate of the Privy Council). Only the foundation of the first courtyard remains, while the second and third courtyards are well-preserved, each with seven bays in width and seven columns in depth, featuring a post-and-lintel wooden frame structure and a gable-and-hip roof. Behind the third courtyard is a flower terrace, where it is said that an ancient banyan tree planted by Gao Yingsong himself once stood.

Gao Yingsong (1212–1276)

Gao Yingsong, styled Yunmu, was a native of Yutou. He was born in the fifth year of Jiading era (1212) during the reign of Emperor Ningzong of the Southern Song Dynasty. In his youth, Gao was serious-minded, ambitious, and diligent in his studies. In 1241, he passed the imperial examination as a juren (recommended man), and in 1259, he achieved the jinshi (presented scholar) degree during the Kaixing era. He served as a teaching official in Hengzhou, then as a vice magistrate in Guangde Military Prefecture, later being summoned to serve as an associate director of the Imperial College, promoted to vice minister of the Ministry of Rites, and eventually as an acting official in the Hanlin Academy.
