Located in You'ai Village, Jiangtian Town, Changle City, Fuzhou, Fujian Province, the Nanyang Chen Clan Ancestral Hall was originally built in the 16th year of the Yongle era during the Ming Dynasty (1418) and renovated in the 9th year of the Wanli era (1581). It spans an area of 6,000 square meters, with three sections front to back, featuring hanging gable roofs and a post-and-lintel wooden structure. The first section is the entrance hall with a central stage; the second section is the main hall; the third section is the ancestral worship hall. The ancestral hall houses numerous plaques and couplets, including an imperial-bestowed plaque inscribed with “Family Legacy of Filial Piety and Friendship, A Lineage Steadfast in Loyalty and Integrity,” as well as plaques and couplets written by many historical figures such as Ye Xianggao, Grand Secretary of the Ming Dynasty, Zheng Shiwei, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Punishments, and modern figures such as Xu Shichang and Sa Zhenbing.
