Xinggang Wharf

Xinggang Wharf is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province.

Xinggang Wharf is located in Tingjiang Town, Mawei District, distributed on both the south and north sides of the Jiaolong Bridge, arranged in an inward V-shape.

Along the Xinggang waterfront, there are three ancient docks, six ancient landing stages, and eight ancient river berths.

The three ancient docks are: Shuimendao Dock, Koutoujie Dock (also known as Haiguancheng Dock), and Yuanshan Dock;

The six ancient landing stages (slightly smaller than docks) are: Bajiao Landing Stage (on the north bank of Jiaolong Bridge), Paitie Landing Stage (on the south bank of Jiaolong Bridge), Haichuan Landing Stage, Yuchi Pu by the river at Hezhi Bian, Mingqu at Chenghu Moat, Shuizhai Pu at Tianluowan, and Shuangpu at Dashikeng. These three pu (berths) also served as mooring spots for merchant and cargo ships.

Xinggang Wharf and Jiaolong Bridge together facilitated traffic between the north and south shores of Xinggang, jointly witnessing a prosperous history of overseas trade.

Xinggang Wharf was designated as a provincial-level cultural heritage site in 1991 and is also part of the "Maritime Silk Road" historical sites in Fuzhou.

Tingjiang Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Mawei District, Fuzhou City. A well-known hometown of overseas Chinese. Established as Tingjiang Commune in 1958, restructured as a township in 1984, and upgraded to a town in 1989. Located on the northern bank of the Min River Estuary, it is 28 kilometers from the city center. It covers an area of 106.7 square kilometers with a population of 34,000. The town administers 19 village committees including Chang’an, Dongqi, Yingyu, Xianglu, Changbing, Dongjie, Xiangyang, Aoxi, Husan, Shengmei, Tingtou, Xibian, Hongtang, Min’an, Dongsheng, Kangban, Qianyang, Baimei, and Niuxiang, as well as 2 residential committees: Tingtou and Min’an.
