Lin Sen’s Bone Repository Pagoda is a cultural relic protection unit of Fujian Province.

Located by Ao Lake within the Qingzhi Mountain Scenic Area in Guantou Town, Lianjiang County, it was personally supervised and constructed by Lin Sen in the 15th year of the Republic of China (1926). Covering an area of approximately 500 square meters, the structure is surrounded by a stone-built, gourd-shaped wall and an iron gate decorated with floral patterns. The pagoda is carved from bluestone, square in shape, and comprises three parts: the base platform, the pedestal, the main body, and the top. It stands a total height of 7.43 meters. The base platform has four levels of stone steps, is 5.7 meters wide on each side, and covers an area of 34.8 square meters. The pedestal is adorned with four carved leopard head feet at its corners. At the four corners of the main body, four monks with clasped hands stand guard. The main structure is surrounded by polished cylindrical columns, interspersed with four rectangular polished bluestone slabs forming the core framework. The front side is inlaid with a stone plaque inscribed with “Bone Repository Pagoda of Lin Sen, President of the Senate,” dated “The 15th Year of the Republic of China.” The top section also has four corners, each with three tiers. The structure continuously projects outward, and the apex features a finial supported by four golden boys holding torches, all intricately carved.

The bone repository pagoda is finely carved with various patterns and decorations from top to bottom, featuring novel design, exquisite layout, and elegant form. During the Cultural Revolution, the commemorative plaque was stolen and the reliefs were smashed.

In 1979, the county government allocated funds for its restoration, restoring it to its former appearance.

In 1991, it was designated as part of the third batch of provincial-level cultural relic protection units.

Guantou Town: Located on the north bank of the Min River estuary in Lianjiang County, it borders the Mawei Development Zone to the west, faces the Langqi Economic Development Zone across the Min River estuary to the south, and leans against Lianjiang County’s urban area to the north. The Shenhai Expressway (G15) has an interchange in the town. The town covers a total area of 64 square kilometers, governs 28 villages (residential communities), and has a population of 58,300. It is a national pilot town for small-town construction, one of Fuzhou’s 20 commercial hubs, as well as a provincial harbor for Taiwanese vessels, a hub for cross-strait trade, a key economic town in Lianjiang County, and a well-known hometown of overseas Chinese.
