The Shaolin Temple Ruins are a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province.

The Shaolin Temple Ruins are located in Shaolin Village, Dongzhang Town, dating back to the Song Dynasty.

In 2005, the Shaolin Temple Ruins were designated as a provincial-level cultural heritage site.

Dongzhang Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Fuqing City. Established as Dongzhang Town in 1950, converted to a commune in 1958, and reinstated as a town in 1984. Located in the northwest of the city, 13 kilometers from the city center, it covers an area of 128 square kilometers with a population of 30,000. The town administers 18 village committees—Xianjin, Xianfeng, Xiangshan, Banling, Laidi, Sanxing, Daoqiao, Xibei, Huashi, Luling, Lingxia, Jishan, Cuihou, Shuangxi, Jinzhi, Yulin, Shaolin, and Nanhu—and the Dongzhang Neighborhood Committee. Major local industries include rattan, wood, and bamboo product manufacturing, food processing, and tripod casting. The main agricultural product is rice.
