The inscription by Ye Xianggao is a cultural relic protected at the municipal level in Fuqing.

The inscription by Ye Xianggao is located in the Shizhu Mountain Scenic Area and dates back to the Ming Dynasty.

In 1988, the inscription by Ye Xianggao was designated as a county-level cultural relics protection unit.

Ye Xianggao (1559–1627), courtesy name Jinqing, art name Taishan, and in his later years self-styled as Fulu Shanren, was a high-ranking official of the Ming Dynasty from Fuqing, Fujian. He was born in the 38th year of the Jiajing reign during the Ming Dynasty (1559). During the Wanli and Tianqi eras of the Ming Dynasty, Ye Xianggao served twice as Chief Grand Secretary of the Cabinet. During his tenure, he achieved major victories against Japanese pirates and repelled Dutch invaders, thwarting their attempts to occupy Taiwan. In the 30th year of the Wanli reign (1602), Ye Xianggao encouraged and recommended his close friend Shen Yourong to serve as a naval commander in Fujian, leading troops to suppress the pirates. After the victory at Dongsha, Ye joyfully composed a poem in his honor.
