The Temple of Literary and Martial Virtue is located at the old cinema on Old Street in Yuxi Town and dates back to the Ming Dynasty.

In 1988, the Temple of Literary and Martial Virtue was designated as a county-level cultural heritage site.

Yuxi Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Fuqing City. Established as Yuxi Town in 1956, converted to a commune in 1958, and reinstated as a town in 1984. It is located in the southwestern part of the city, 14 kilometers from the city center. Covering an area of 115 square kilometers with a population of 46,000, it governs 20 village committees including Yuxi, Shangzheng, Nanqianting, Shuitou, Houqi, Houpeng, Nanyu, Liucuo, Xiali, Hongshan, Sutian, Nansheng, Shuangdun, Jianxin, Zhongqian, Dongji, Shangzhang, Lianhua, Bushang, and Qiaofeng, as well as the Yuxi residential community.
