Fuqing Revolutionary History Monument

The Fuqing Revolutionary History Monument is located beside Qingrong Avenue in Yinxi Subdistrict, Fuqing City.

Over the past 100 years since the war, the people of Fuqing have fought arduously and bled profusely in their struggles against --, resisting foreign aggression, and striving for national independence and the liberation of the people, writing a moving and heroic chapter. In the fifty years since the founding of New China, the sons and daughters of Yurong have been determined to strive for strength and forge ahead in socialist revolution and construction, creating unprecedented feats. During this period, countless benevolent and dedicated individuals and revolutionary martyrs emerged. Their achievements are immortalized in history, and their spirit shines upon future generations.

In August 1999, the Fuqing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Fuqing Municipal People's Government erected the monument to commemorate the revolutionary history of Fuqing. The monument covers an area of approximately 500 square meters, stands over 10 meters tall, and features nine golden characters on its front face that read “Fuqing Revolutionary History Monument.” In April 2002, the Fuqing Revolutionary History Monument was designated as a Fuqing Municipal Youth Moral Education Base by the Fuqing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Fuqing Municipal People's Government.

Yinxi Subdistrict: Yinxi Subdistrict is situated at the core axis of the city’s new development zone. It originated from the former Yinxi Town. It was established as Yinxi Township in 1950, restructured as a commune in 1961, renamed Honglu Commune in 1970, reinstated as Yinxi Commune in 1978, changed to a township in 1984, and upgraded to a town in 1989. In 2006, the Fuqing Municipal Committee and Government of Fujian Province, in response to the needs of Fuqing’s urban development and to strengthen and expand the central urban area, implemented a major adjustment of the central urban district administrative divisions. Yinxi Subdistrict was one of the seven newly established subdistricts at the end of that year.
