Former Site of the CPC Tianzhang District Committee Office in Jinzhi Village

The former site of the CPC Tianzhang District Committee Office in Jinzhi Village is located at the Wang Family Ancestral Hall in Jinzhi Village, Dongzhang Town.

Jinzhi Village is surrounded by mountains on all sides, situated at an altitude of over 700 meters, and boasts beautiful scenery. It is the most remote small mountain village in the northwest of Dongzhang Town, also recognized as a provincially designated old revolutionary base village. This was once the location of the Central Fujian Regional Committee, the CPC Tianzhang District Committee, and the hometown of martyr Guan A’gan.

In the mid-1940s, the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee dispatched comrades to establish strongholds in Jinzhi and Siyang. In July 1948, Huang Guozhang, Secretary of the CPC Central Fujian Regional Committee, went to Hong Kong for medical treatment, and the committee’s office was relocated to the Jinzhi mountain area. Deputy Secretary Lin Runan took charge of the committee’s work, conducting the “Jinzhi Survey,” mobilizing the masses to develop party members, organizing poor peasant leagues, and leading struggles for grain loans and distribution. In early 1949, to commemorate Chen Tianzhang, a martyr arrested and killed by the Kuomintang, the Party established the Tianzhang District in Jinzhi Village. Guan Guohui was appointed secretary of the Tianzhang District Committee, with members including Lin Jinliu, Lai Yuanqi, Lin Ya’a, Guan Pei’a, Li Guoqin, and Tang Yucheng. Li Guoqin was responsible for the Xinxian area, Guan Pei’a for the Dongzhang area; Lin Ya’a served as the production commissioner, Lin Jinliu as the organizational commissioner, and Lai Yuanqi as the military commissioner of the district committee. From then on, the team grew stronger. They mobilized the masses to fight against local despots, and the guerrillas eliminated the tyrant Lin Chunyan in Jinzhi Village—the Wang Family Ancestral Hall was the site of that struggle against the despot.

On January 28, 1949, three guerrillas from Central Fujian—Guan A’gan, Lin Jinliu, and Lai Yuanqi—went to Yuxi to arrest the spy Huang Wenqing. Huang resisted with a gun, and unfortunately, Guan A’gan was shot and killed.

The Wang Family Ancestral Hall has a construction area of approximately 190 square meters. It was built in the 1920s with a brick-and-wood structure and is currently in relatively poor condition.
