Former Revolutionary Base Site of Taishan Temple Taishan Temple is located in Jiudian Village, Jiangjing Town, Fuqing City.

In the winter of 1931, Communist Party member He Xu'tao participated in organizing the Rescue the Hometown Corps and the People’s Protection Corps in the Jiangjing area. On December 26th, —— crowds gathered at Taishan Temple before marching into Longtian to besiege the Nationalist Provincial Defense Army unit under Lin Jing, eliminating over 700 enemy troops during the battle.

In the first half of 1941, after the Japanese invaders occupied the Fujian coast and Fuqing fell, He Xu'tao vowed to fight the Japanese to the bitter end in the face of their atrocities of burning, killing, and looting. Using his position as township head, he mobilized nearly 100 passionate young men and formed an anti-Japanese guerrilla unit in Jiangjing, organized as the “3rd Anti-Japanese Guerrilla Brigade of Fuping Coastal Region,” headquartered at Taishan Temple.

In September 1944, when Fuzhou and the surrounding region fell for the second time, He Xu'tao returned to Jiangjing, rallied former comrades, raised funds, and assembled a force. He raised the anti-Japanese banner at Taishan Temple and Jufutang, establishing the Fuqing Detachment of the Fujian Anti-Japanese Guerrilla Vanguard, with He Xu'tao as detachment commander, Liu Jiahuang as deputy commander, and over 1,000 members. They carried out anti-Japanese activities across the Longgao area.

In April 1947, the Central Fujian Military Sub-district organized the Longgao Uprising here. Commander Huang Guozhang, Deputy Commander Chen Hengyuan, and Political Commissar Lin Runan, together with a portion of the guerrilla forces led by Chen Zhenxian, a member of the Central Fujian District Committee of the CPC and secretary of the Fuping County Committee, gathered at Taishan Temple. A mobilization meeting was held there for the attack on Longtian and Gaoshan towns—that is, the Longgao Uprising—to confirm the number of participants and weapons. Lin Runan chaired the meeting and delivered a mobilization speech. Taishan Temple became the headquarters of the Central Fujian Military Sub-district, the command post of the Fuping County Committee of the CPC, and a base for the armed uprising.

Taishan Temple faces south and features a central axis running from south to north, including in sequence the Mountain Gate, Taishan Hall, Guan Di Hall, and Wenchang Hall. On the east side is a stage. The structure has flush gable roofs and post-and-lintel wooden framing, with a construction area of about 500 square meters. It is currently well preserved.
