Former Site of the CPC Fuqing County Committee Office in Lingkou Village

The former site of the CPC Fuqing County Committee office in Lingkou Village is located at the Dai Clan Ancestral Hall in Lingkou Natural Village, Yunzhongyang Village, Yinxi Subdistrict, Fuqing City.

Yunzhongyang Village in Fuqing City is a well-known revolutionary base village. The Dai Clan Ancestral Hall served as the office of the CPC Fuqing County Committee and the headquarters of the Fujian–Central Guerrilla Unit during the Liberation War.

In mid-February 1949, the CPC Fuqing County Committee held an enlarged meeting at the Dai Clan Ancestral Hall to implement the guidelines from the Xiwaiyang Meeting of the Prefectural Committee. Over 100 members of the County Committee and leading cadres from various districts attended the meeting, which was presided over by Yu Hongqing and Shen Zucheng. Based on the directives from the Xiwaiyang Meeting and in consideration of Fuqing’s actual conditions, the meeting made decisions to develop the Party organization, expand guerrilla forces, and continue the campaigns against local despots and the “Three Levies” (taxation, conscription, and grain requisition). The meeting emphasized that in the struggle to eliminate evil and suppress counter-revolutionaries, it was essential to mobilize the masses, attack comprehensively, and strike the enemy accurately, resolutely, and forcefully. Those who adhered to reactionary positions, remained stubbornly unrepentant, and were deeply hated by the masses were to be firmly suppressed; those willing to reform and cease wrongdoing were to be treated leniently, in order to reduce opposition and maximize the isolation and targeting of the most reactionary enemies. To facilitate leadership, the meeting divided the region into the East, South, West, North, and Tianzhang districts, placing Jiangyin Island under the jurisdiction of the South District.

The Dai Clan Ancestral Hall is a quadrangle-style ancestral temple building, originally constructed in the late Qing Dynasty and rebuilt in the 1930s, with a floor area of approximately 600 square meters. After the Liberation, it was used as the schoolhouse for Yunzhongyang Primary School. It was renovated in 1991 and again in 2002, and is currently in good condition.
