Martyrs' Monument of Changle Revolutionary

The Martyrs' Monument of Changle Revolutionary is a cultural relic protection unit of Changle District and a classic red tourism attraction.

The Martyrs' Monument of Changle Revolutionary is located on Taping Mountain in Wuhang Town, Changle District.

In March 1958, to commemorate the revolutionary martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the cause, the CPC Changle County Committee and the Changle County People's Committee decided to build the monument. The site covers an area of 900 square meters. The main body of the monument is constructed from granite and cement mortar, in the form of a square tower with a five-pointed star relief at the top. The body of the monument features inscriptions: the south side reads “Martyrs' Monument of Changle County”; the west side reads “Carry forward the glorious traditions of the revolutionary martyrs and strive for socialist construction,” signed by the CPC Changle County Committee; the east side reads “Eternal glory to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the revolution,” in the handwriting of Ye Fei; the north side reads “Eternal glory to the martyrs who were brave, tenacious, and loyal to the Party and the people’s cause throughout their lives,” signed by the Changle County People's Committee. Behind the monument lies a cemetery for martyrs who died in service after the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

The Martyrs' Monument of Changle Revolutionary was designated as a county-level cultural relic protection unit by the Changle County People's Government in 1990. In September 1998, it was recognized as a Changle Municipal Patriotic Education Base by the Changle Municipal Committee and the Changle Municipal People's Government.
