Songshan Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery

Songshan Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery is a cultural relic protection unit of Jin'an District.

Songshan Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery is located in Guyi Village, Gushan Town, Jin'an District, Fuzhou City.

It is the resting place of revolutionary martyrs Ye Kai and Wang Zeyan. Martyr Ye Kai, male, was from Guyi Village, Houyu, Gushan Town. He was born on June 11, 1909, joined the revolution in 1928, and became a member of the Communist Party of China in 1929. He served as member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee, acting secretary of the Fuzhou Central Municipal Committee, member of the Municipal Committee, head of the Propaganda Department, head of the Organization Department, political commissar of the 13th Independent Regiment of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army in Eastern Fujian, and secretary of the CPC Luoyuan County Committee, among other roles. On the 13th day of the ninth lunar month in 1935, he was brutally executed by the reactionary Kuomintang forces and died a martyr's death at the young age of 26. Martyr Wang Zeyan, male, was also from Guyi Village, Houyu, Gushan Town. He was born in 1911, joined the Communist Party of China in 1929, and once served as a special envoy of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee. In 1930, he went to the Central Red Army School in Jiangxi for study. After returning to Fujian, he was active for a long time in the Liancheng–Luoyuan area, making repeated military achievements in the struggles to establish and expand the revolutionary forces and defend the red political power of the Soviet area. In April 1934, he was unfortunately arrested due to the betrayal of a traitor and imprisoned. On the fourth day of the seventh lunar month in 1934, he was killed by the reactionary Kuomintang forces at the young age of 23.

To commemorate the revolutionary martyrs, the Suburban District Committee and District People's Government of Fuzhou built the Songshan Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery in August 1965. The cemetery covers an area of 4 mu, approximately 2,600 square meters. It underwent two renovations in 1988 and 2008 and is one of the patriotic education bases in Jin'an District.

In April 1995, the Suburban District People's Government designated Songshan Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery as a suburban cultural relic protection unit.
