Former Site of the Baiyun Temple Meeting of the Minjiang Working Committee of the Communist Party of China

Chengshan Baiyun Temple is located in Chengshan Natural Village, Baiyun Village, Chengmen Town (now within the campus of Fuzhou University of International Studies and Trade). Situated in a mountain hollow atop Chengshan, the temple is secluded, easily accessible, with the Fuzhou–Xiamen Highway at Sanjiaocheng just 200 meters downhill to the south, the Min River at Kuqi directly north, and a residential area for the poor on the eastern side of Chengshan, bordered on both sides by Chengmen Mountain Primary School. The area has crisscrossing paths, making it an ideal location for underground activities. In February 1946, three comrades from the Minjiang Special Committee of the Communist Party of China—including Gu Min (aka Zhang Shuxiong) and Chen Benshi—visited Baiyun Temple disguised as worshippers to secretly recruit underground party members and establish the Underground Party Branch of Sanjiaocheng (with Lin Zhiren as branch secretary, and Lin Wufan, Lin Zhiquing, and Lin Jiayuan as branch committee members). Subsequently, Wu Kejun (aka Lin Kejun), Secretary of the Nantian District Committee of the Minjiang Working Committee, led other leaders of the committee to station at Baiyun Temple to develop underground party organizations. They actively engaged in struggles for rent and interest reduction, formed underground revolutionary armed forces, carried out attacks—coordinating with the People's Liberation Army to liberate Fuzhou. After March 1947, over ten comrades from the Minjiang Working Committee leadership, including Wu Kejun, Guan Pingshan, Lin Li (code name Lao Fang), Chen Bingfan (code name No. 40), Lin Yisheng (aka No. 21), Lao Liu, Lao Chen, Wang Jintian, Lin Bai, Wu Gao, Chen Bingnan, Chen Yakang, Chen Benshi, Chen Bingmao, Gu Min, and Lin Zhaomin, successively conducted secret underground party work at Baiyun Temple. In June 1949, a meeting of the Minjiang Working Committee of the Communist Party of China was secretly held at Baiyun Temple in Chengmen, with the central task of mobilizing the masses to welcome the liberation of Fuzhou.

The Former Site of the Baiyun Temple Meeting of the Minjiang Working Committee of the Communist Party of China covers a construction area of 240 m², with a brick-concrete structure. The original site was built in the 1930s and renovated in the late 1990s.

Baiyun Village: Baiyun Village is located in the central part of Chengmen Town. Established in 2000 after being divided from the former Aofeng Village, it enjoys convenient transportation. Fuzhou Industrial School and the nationally renowned Chunlun Tea Industry are located within its jurisdiction, contributing to a relatively developed service sector. The village currently has 563 households, a population of 2,008, and 1,139 laborers. In 2012, the total rural economic income was 669.75 million yuan, with a village fiscal revenue of 746,700 yuan.
