Former Site Memorial of the Fuzhou Municipal Committee of the CPC

The Former Site Memorial of the Fuzhou Municipal Committee of the CPC is a classic red tourism destination and a base for patriotic education.

The former site of the Fuzhou Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China is located at No. 3 and No. 2 Liben Lane, Anmin Lane, Sanfang Qixiang, covering a construction area of approximately 350 square meters. In April 1926, with the approval of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Fuzhou Local Executive Committee of the CPC was established. It was the earliest local organization of the CPC in Fuzhou and reported directly to the Central Committee. After its establishment, the committee led the vigorous development of movements involving workers, peasants, students, and women, leaving behind many moving revolutionary stories. At that time, most of the activities of the committee were carried out at the residence of Fang Erhao at No. 13 Beihou Street, North Road, and the home of Xu Shen and Yu Zhenzhen, a couple, at No. 3 Liben Lane, Anmin Lane. In August 2015, the Fuzhou Municipal Committee of the CPC decided to restore, preserve, and utilize this historical site, which was officially opened to the public in April 2016. The exhibits mainly showcase photographs, cultural relics, and historical materials related to how, during the Great Revolution period, progressive youth in Fuzhou, under the guidance of the Central Committee of the CPC and the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, established the Fuzhou Branch of the Communist Youth League, and on that basis, formed the Fuzhou Local Executive Committee of the CPC. Under the leadership of the Party and the League, they mobilized the people of Fuzhou to carry out anti-imperialist and anti-feudal struggles, welcomed the entry of the National Revolutionary Army into Fuzhou, cooperated in combating the forces of the Northern Warlords, and resisted the Kuomintang’s betrayal of the revolution. The exhibits also include relevant photos, artifacts, and historical documents. The exhibition hall at No. 2 Liben Lane also displays profiles of successive institutions and key leaders of the Fuzhou Party organizations. The former site of the Municipal Committee has been designated as a Fujian Provincial Party History Education Base, a Fuzhou Municipal Party History Education Base, and a Fuzhou Municipal Patriotic Education Base. It has become an important patriotic education venue for party members and cadres across the city to study Party history, undergo a red baptism, and inherit revolutionary traditions.
